Here's what we know of them, so far:
These high risk drivers climb into the anonymity of an
automobile and take out their frustrations on anybody
at any time.
For them, frustration levels are high, and level of
concern for fellow motorists is low.
They run stop signs and red lights, speed, tailgate,
weave in and out of traffic, pass on the right, make
improper and unsafe lane changes, make hand and
facial gestures, scream, honk, and flash their lights.
They drive at speeds far in excess of the norm, which
causes them to: follow too closely, change lanes
frequently and abruptly without notice (signals), pass
on the shoulder or unpaved portions of the roadway,
and leer at and/or threaten - verbally or through
gestures - motorists who are thoughtless enough to
be in front of them.
Parking on, over or the blocking of any sidewalk
is not permitted.
Parking tickets can be paid
online, Village Hall, or
placed in the collection box at Village Hall or the Police Department. Traffic
tickets are paid at the Clerk's office at 1792

Unfortunately no. You must go to the Clerk’s
office located at 1792 Nicole Lane in Round
Lake Beach, a minimum of 10 days after you
were issued the ticket, or go on your designated
court date and time located at the bottom of your
ticket.
If you are a resident of Round Lake who will be out of
town for a period of four (4) days to three (3) weeks, you may request that the Round Lake Police
Department conduct periodic checks on your home
while you are away.
House Watches will be conducted only when a
resident will be gone for a period of four (4) days to
three (3) weeks; please do not request a House
Watch if you will be gone for more or less time than
that.

Lost and Runaway dogs are a common occurrence. The Village of Round Lake works hard to try to return lost pets to their owners without penalizing the owners in most circumstances.
- If your dog runs off or is missing, please call the Police Department at (847) 546-8112 during business hours and 911 during off-hours. Leave your name, address and telephone number, and a complete a description of your pet. We will contact you if we find the animal.
- Check our Round Lake Police Department Facebook page. We try to post photos of all our found pets soon after locating them.
- Contact Lake County Animal Control. It is possible that you pet traveled out of our Village and was picked up by another town.
Have your animal micro-chipped. Micro-chipping is an easy and incredibly reliable method of getting your pet back if we pick it up after you lose it.

There is no overnight parking on any street in
the Village of Round Lake between the hours of
2:00 am - 6:00 am. It's a Village-wide parking
ban. To dispute any citation, please complete the

It is unlawful for any person to park a motor vehicle
or, if parked, to allow a motor vehicle to remain
parked or standing in any public street or alley during
or after a snowfall in which there is an accumulation
of two (2) inches of snow or more. Violation of this
ordinance may result in the removal of the vehicle at
the owner’s expense.
For youths ages 15 and under, 10 p.m. daily. For
youth ages 16-17 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday,
and curfew is at 12 a.m. (midnight) on Friday and
Saturday.
If the juvenile is in a car at the time of arrest, it can be
impounded at a cost no less than $250 plus storage
fees, no matter who owns the vehicle. The juvenile
will be arrested, photographed, and fingerprinted.
The guardian/parent will be called to pick up the
minor. They also may have to appear in local court.
There are exceptions in this ordinance to allow for
work, school activities, and church events. Further
charges against the parent or guardian are also
possible.
When Confronted By An Aggressive Driver: First and
foremost, make every attempt to get out of the way.
Put your pride in the back seat. Do not challenge
them by speeding up or attempting to hold-your-own
in your travel lane.
Wear your seat belt. It will hold you in your seat and
behind the wheel in case you need to make an
abrupt driving maneuver, and it will protect you in a
crash.
Avoid eye contact.
Ignore gestures and refuse to return them.
Report aggressive drivers to the appropriate
authorities by providing a vehicle description, license
number, location, and if possible, direction of travel.
If you have a cell phone and can do it safely, call the
police - many have special numbers.
If an aggressive driver is involved in a crash farther
down the road, stop a safe distance from the crash
scene, wait for the police to arrive, and report the
driving behavior that you witnessed. Avoid the
challenges or confrontations of an aggressive driver
and support law enforcement's efforts to rid the
streets and highways of this menace.

Road, and at the Police Department at 741 W. Town
Line Road.

It is unlawful for any person to park a vehicle
on any public street between the hours of
2:00 AM and 6:00 AM of any day.
Permission for overnight parking for up to three
consecutive nights every calendar month can be
obtained by calling Central Communications at
847.270.9111 and have your information added
to the overnight log.
This includes overnight visitors and drive way
repairs.
The vehicle parked in the street must not cause a
road obstruction, block driveways or access to
fire hydrants.
