The Round Lake Police Department conducted additional traffic enforcement from March 12th to March 18th, as part of the nationwide “Click It or Ticket” / “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement effort.

Round Lake Police joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to reduce highway fatalities by issuing citations to unbuckled motorists and arresting impaired drivers.

During the enforcement campaign, the Round Lake Police issued:

  • 7 speeding citations
  • 8 seat belt citations
  • 3 distracted driver citations
  • 1 DUI arrest
  • 1 No valid driver’s license arrest
  • 2 uninsured motor vehicle citations
  • 10 other traffic/equipment related citations

Extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late-night hours, when statistics show the most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur.

The recent law enforcement campaign was made possible by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation and is part of the statewide Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket campaigns.
