PUBLIC COMMENTS WANTED: All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan

The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) and the Lake County Emergency Management Agency (LCEMA) opened a 60-day public review and comment period for the multi-jurisdictional Lake County All Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan update. The 2006 FEMA-approved plan is required to be updated every 5 years and communities who participated in the planning process will be eligible for natural hazard mitigation funds. Comments will be accepted through Oct. 3, 2011.

Comments will be accepted through Oct. 3, 2011. Comments may be submitted via email to Susan Vancil or faxed to (847) 984-5747 or mailed to SMC, 500 W. Winchester Rd., Suite 201, Libertyville, IL 60048. A public hearing is scheduled for Thurs., Sept. 22, 1-3 p.m., Lake County Building, 18 N. County St., Waukegan, IL.
