The Grayslake Library September Programs are free and require registration, unless otherwise noted. Some require tickets due to limited seating. Contact the Grayslake Library in person, by phone (847-223-5313) or register online.   Check out all the fun Fall Storytimes and Book Clubs for kids of all ages. Variety of Programs for youth from Newborn to grade school, teens and adults.

Friends of the Library Non-fiction Lobby Book Sale
starts: Friday, September 17 

The Friends of the Libary's storage closet is overflowing with wonderful books.  We can't keep them until the big fall book sale so

we are having an early non-fiction book sale.  Come and visit.  Despite our current bounty of books,

we're still accepting donations for the main Fall Book

The Creation of Guys and Dolls
Thursday, September 9 at 7 pm
2010 is the centennial of Frank Loesser’s birth -- a perfect time to explore one of the best and original graphics, photos,

video clips, and audio tracks of the fabulous songs with lyrics displayed onscreen, with a narrative that tells the

amusing story of the creation of this classic.

Gramma, Grampa & Me
Sunday, September 12 at 2 pm

Youth Program (5-8 years old)  Kids ages 5-8 years old – bring your favorite grandparent or

two for this fun story time about kids and their great Grands. Enjoy a special craft together and make a memory!

Duct Tape Flowers
Monday, September 13 at 3:30 pm  -
Teen Program (7-12 grade)

Make duct tape flowers to use as a corsage or boutonniere for homecoming - or just for

fun! Supplies provided.

Where In the World...?
Sunday, September 19 at 2 pm
Youth Program (Grades 1-3). Come explore cultures of the world with us! Discover different

games, crafts, languages, and surprising facts as we “travel” to a new country and have a

world of fun. Grades 1-

Gentle Tai Chi
Tuesday, September 21 at 10 am
Tai Chi with us! Tai Chi is a form of movements that evolved in China around 1400 A.D.

to move blood and circulate energy. Research documents changes in balance, decreased

blood pressure, improved coordination and preventions of falls in Tai Chi practitioners.

Tai Chi has applications for coordination, meditation and teaches basic movements for

martial arts. movements in your body.  Come Tai Chi with us!

 

 

 

It’s a Fall Fest
Tuesday, September 21 at 6:30 pm
Youth Program (Grades K-2) Let’s explore the beauty and wonders of fall. We’ll

read stories, listen to music and make a craft, all in celebration of this sensational

season. Grades K-2.

 

Glue & Go Costumes
Saturday, September 25 at 1 pm

Youth Program - For children and their adults, kindergarten and older. Come be inspired to create prize winning costumes with author Holly Cleeland.   
This youth event is free and tickets are required.

 

The Scarecrows Are Coming!
Saturday, September 25 at 10 am

Youth Program -Attention 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders, join us for the third annual Scarecrow School. Learn to design and build life-size

scarecrows that will hang around our library this fall.
