You need to be registered to vote in the November 4th General Election. To register, a person must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years of age by the date of the next election, and a resident at the address for 30 days immediately prior to Election Day.  Two forms of identification are required to register. One of the two forms must show your name and current address, and one form of identification may be a piece of mail for a contractual service addressed to you at your residence. Registering to vote is available at the County Clerk's office, through Deputy Registrars appointed by the County Clerk, your local municipal or township office and other local agencies, or online at www.GetRegistered.info. Registration is open all year throughout the County except during the 27 days preceding an election, and registration reopens the second day following an election. You must be registered by October 7 if you are voting in the November 4, 2008 election.Your voter registration does not expire unless you move or change your name. If you move within Lake County, you must provide written notification of your new address and sign the request.
