Transportation
The Pace Bus Route 570 serves Round Lake commuters and the bus stop is located at Cedar Lake Road and Washington Road. This Bus Route also connects to bus routes 565, 572, and 806. For more information on Pace visit www.pacebus.com.
The MILWAUKEE DISTRICT/NORTH LINE (FOX LAKE TO CHICAGO) serves Round Lake commuters and the Metra station is located at the intersection of Route 134 and Cedar Lake Road. The Metra Agent hours are M-F 5:15 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Metra owns the station lots and building and Metra determines the number of spaces at the station, while the Village maintains the lots for Metra. Parking is available daily on a first-come, first-serve basis for a fee of $1.50 a day. Payment can be made by dollar bills and coins at each lot's collection box or by purchasing a Quarterly or Annual Pass at the Village Hall of Round Lake at 442 N. Cedar Lake Road, Round Lake, IL. When all lots are at maximum capacity - commuters are urged to park at the Grayslake Metra Station.
Upcoming Metra parking improvements
Upcoming in the month of August, Metra will be improving the east parking lot by adding over 100 additional spaces. However, the parking lot will be closed during the construction. Although the lots at the Depot, Goodnow, and the north side of Route 134 will remain open, the loss of spaces will impact Metra users. Please plan ahead when riding Metra to ensure that there are spaces available in the lots or you can use an alternate Metra facility. There are additional Metra stations in Grayslake, both Downtown and on Washington Street. In Round Lake Beach, there is a Metra station next to the Round Lake Beach Municipal Complex. Consult the Metra website at http://metrarail.com/ to find train schedules and the locations for other stations to find one that best suits your schedule. If you have any questions, please contact Metra weekdays 8:00am to 5:00pm at(312)322-6777 or evenings and weekends at (847)836-7000, or the Village of Round Lake at 847-546-5400.
