The Illinois EPA mandates that municipalities conduct a survey of all water users to see who has a backflow preventative device connected to their water service.
These are commonly called a RPZ (Reduced Pressure Zone). All businesses should have one of the devices installed. For residential water users, these devices are commonly installed with an in-ground lawn sprinkler system.
The Village has decided to use an online survey format to comply with the IEPA regulations.
Residents and business owners should go to http://bsiprograms.com/surveys/ to complete the survey. If you are unsure whether you have an RPZ device, you may email a picture of your device to Public Works at email@example.com or contact Public Works at 847-546-0962.
