Chief of Police Biography
Michael Gillette was appointed Chief of Police of the Round Lake Police Department on April 19, 2010. Chief Gillette has worked in corrections, patrol, detectives, SWAT, and at several police department administrative posts including major crime task force operations.
Throughout his 30+ year career, Chief Gillette has been active in many associations including the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police as a member and currently Chairman of the Awards Committee.
Chief Gillette holds an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Elgin Community College, a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Management, and a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Judson University. Chief Gillette is also a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command.
